Announcing: The Project Yet House
Project Yet has made a huge leap forward because of the generous support of people like you.
HERE’S THE BIG NEWS
On May 1st, we signed a lease on our first Project Yet House. Yay! This will allow us to support the young adults we serve in more substantial ways than ever before. Here are a few of the ways we envision this hub of operations being used:
-
A safe space for young people to gather
-
Short-term rental housing for a few young adults, allowing them to save money and build credit
-
An area to host hands-on workshops and classes for practical skills like cooking, baking, basic home maintenance, lawn care, cleaning, home organization, finances, and more
What kind of impact has Project Yet made on young adults 18 – 24 years old?
We asked Cooper Duncan who has been involved in Project Yet since he was 18 years old. Now at 21, Cooper serves as a young adult member of our Board of Directors and will be the day-to-day manager of the new PY House.

In addition to building a community of friends and developing relationships with supportive adults, Cooper says, “One of the key things I learned through Project Yet was how important it is to get to know people and recognize that everyone has something to give. Having conversations and spending time with another person, you learn what is important to them and that gives you a basis for understanding and supporting one other. My personal experience with this organization pushed me believe I had something valuable to offer and gave me the confidence to strive for the life and career I want.” When asked what impact the house will have for young adults involved with our nonprofit, Cooper said, “First the PY House will provide a stable base for young adults to get started as they move into adulthood. When you don’t know where you will live, it’s impossible to plan, learn, or find the best job. With safe housing, residents can get their feet under them as they save money and build credit, while focusing on opportunities to grow into their best selves.”

HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP
We are asking businesses and individuals to donate all or part of one month’s rent. A full month is $2000; half month is $1000; and one week is $500.
In addition, many of the young adults we serve face food insecurity. Donations of grocery and gas gift cards are greatly appreciated and make a massive difference.
